In Baysville, climb aboard the Vicky J, a 27-foot pontoon boat, for a three-hour tour of the lake that includes commentary on the area's rich history. The trip runs twice a day (10 am and 1:30 pm) July through Labour Day. Fall colour tours begin in late September and run through Thanksgiving weekend. The boat only holds 12 people so call ahead to make a reservation.
You can head over to Bigwin Island and its golf course, if you’d like. Bigwin Inn was constructed between 1910 and 1920 and served an elite international clientele until the mid-1940s. So far the story is like that of several other grand Muskoka hotels. Unlike some others that have burned down or been demolished, Bigwin is still completely intact, and from the shore you can see the rounded dining room and dance hall.
