Inspire your Outdoorsy Side on Manitoulin Island

As the world’s largest freshwater island, Manitoulin takes more than one or two days to explore. Beautiful scenery is highlighted by fishing villages, picturesque weathered farms, and more fabulous hiking trails than you can shake a walking stick at.

Plan on arriving via the the famous Chi-Cheemaun ferry from Tobermory for three days soaking up Aboriginal culture, the cliff top Cup and Saucer hiking trail, and a beautiful, remote provincial park.

When to Go: anytime; the Taste of Manitoulin festival is held for 10 days in early- to mid-June; the annual art studio tour and the Ride Manitoulin motorcycle event are held in late July
